South Africa's Pro Toto Thimba is the winner of the third edition of KCB Karen Masters. Toto fought off stiff competition from Portuguese Stephen Pereira as the tournament got to home stretch to win over 2 Million shillings as Cash Prize.
The South African sank an eagle on par 5 hole 2, followed by 2 birdies in the first nine carding 65 points on Sunday to grab the coveted prize and the blue Jacket previously won by compatriot Michael Palmer. Palmer finished a distant 15th.
Keith Horne ,JC Ritchie , Garrick Higo, MJ Viljoen,, Thriston Lawrence and Kenya's Greg snow scooped the remaining five slots consecutively.
The Karen Masters has transitioned into a distinctly African tournament designed to promote the game of golf in Africa and to support local players in their quest to become world beating golfers.
The partnership between Karen Country Club and The Sunshine Tour in South Africa saw around 100 top-ranking players to Karen to compete against 32 of Kenya’s finest, as well as some great players from other African countries, to give a field of 152 professional players.
